In Memoriam: Andraé Derrell Sailes, 1979-2019

Andraé Sailes, the director of academic and career advising for the College of Liberal Arts for Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, died in a drowning accident off North Captiva Island in Florida while on a family vacation. He was 39 years old.

Sailes joined the staff at Purdue in June 2004 as the assistant director of undergraduate admissions. In 2010, he was promoted to associate director of admissions for MBA and master of science degree programs. He became director of academic and career advising for the College of Liberal Arts in 2016.

Sailes held a bachelor’s degree in public health promotion and an MBA from Purdue University.
