Tanya Millner-Harlee to Lead Manchester Community College in Connecticut

Tanya Millner-Harlee was recently appointed interim Campus CEO of Manchester Community College in Connecticut. She is a professor of English and has been serving as interim dean of academic affairs at the college.

Manchester Community College, located to the east of the state capital in Hartford, enrolls nearly, 6,800 students. African Americans make up 16 percent of the student body, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education.

Dr. Millner-Harlee was hired by the college in 2004 as a lecturer in developmental English. She has served as co-chair of the English department and as interim director of the business, engineering, and technology division.

A graduate of Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature, Dr. Millner-Harlee holds a master’s degree in English from Northeastern University and an educational doctorate from George Washington University.

Dr. Millner-Harlee will serve as interim campus CEO for the fall semester while a search is conducted for an individual to fill the position on a permanent basis with a target date of January 2019.
