Yale Debuts New Scholarship Program for MBA Students From Africa

Yale University has announced a new scholarship program for African students seeking an MBA. The Yale School of Management will offer two scholarships for full-time students in its MBA program to students from the African continent who intend to return back to Africa after completing their studies and contribute to the economic growth of their communities and nations.

The Yale-African Impact Scholarships will be merit-based and supply at least one half of tuition and fees over the two years of the MBA program. Students must pledge to return to Africa for at least two years within two years after earning their MBA at Yale.

In announcing the program at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya, Peter Salovey, president of Yale University, stated that “this initiative is part of a broad commitment across the university to build on our longstanding relationships to Africa. Yale, our partner institutions and even the world benefit immensely from our collaborations with people and organizations on the continent.”

This year, there are 32 students from Africa at the Yale School of Management.
