Two African American Women in New Administrative Posts at Universities

Sabrina Johnson was appointed vice president for equity and access and chief diversity officer at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She has been on the staff at the university for 20 years, serving most recently as associate vice president for human resources.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree and a master of public administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She earned a juris doctorate at the College of William and Mary.

Teresa A. Miller was named senior vice chancellor for strategic initiatives for the State University of New York System and chief of staff for the system’s chancellor. Professor Miller has been serving on the faculty at the University at Buffalo. There she also held the position as chief diversity officer.

Professor Miller is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School. She also earned a master’s degree in law at the University of Wisconsin.
