New Opportunities in Cybersecurity for Students at Coppin State University in Baltimore

Historically Black Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, has entered into a partnership with Northrop Grumman Corporation, the major defense contractor and Digit All City, a Baltimore-based high technology company to offer the Cyber Warrior Diversity program.

Under the program, students at Coppin State University will be able to obtain certifications required by the Department of Defense for cybersecurity work. Some graduates of the program who meet certain qualifications will be hired by Northrop Grumman for cybersecurity positions.

Jaime Bohnke, vice president for global supply chain at Northrop Grumman, stated that the company “is pleased to be able to transfer know-how and experience to Digit All City and historically black colleges and universities so they can grow and develop a community of cyber warriors that will help protect our nation from cybersecurity threats.”

A similar program was instituted for students at historically Black Morgan State University in Baltimore earlier this year.
