Cornelius Carter Appointed to an Endowed Chair at the University of Alabama

cartercorneliusCornelius Carter was named to the Marilyn Williams Elmore and John Durr Elmore Endowed Professorship in dance in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Professor Carter also serves as director of the dance program at the university and as artistic director of the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre.

Professor Carter received a master of fine arts degree in dance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 2001, he was the recipient of the National Outstanding Doctoral and Research Universities Professor of the Year Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in Washington, D.C.
