Four Black Scholars Taking on New Roles at Colleges and Universities

simonKosali Simon is the new Class of 1948 Herman B. Wells Endowed Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. She is a professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at the university. Dr. Simon joined the faculty at Indiana University in 2010.

Professor Simon is a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland-College Park.

anthropology_juligrigsbyJuli Grigsby is a new assistant professor of anthropology at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. She was a postdoctoral fellow in the Africana Research Center and the department of women’s gender, and sexuality studies at Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Grigsby is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin.

bobby-wilsonBobby L. Wilson, the L. Lloyd Woods Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and the Shell Oil Endowed Chaired Professor of Environmental Toxicology at Texas Southern University in Houston, has been given the added duties of interim provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Professor Wilson is a graduate of Alabama State University in Montgomery, where he majored in chemistry. He holds a master’s degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Michigan State University in East Lansing.

16-10319-BELLAMY-012Marcus Bellamy was named the inaugural Isabel Anderson Career Development Professor at Boston University. He is an assistant professor of operations and technology management at the university’s Questrom School of Business.

Dr. Bellamy is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. He holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering and a Ph.D. in operations management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
