Haywood B. Joiner Jr. to Lead Louisiana State University-Alexandria

hjoinerLouisiana State University has announced that Haywood B. Joiner Jr. will serve as interim chancellor of the Alexandria campus when current chancellor Dan Howard steps down in late August. Dr. Joiner is chair of the department of allied health at the university. He has also been serving as interim chair of the department of business administration at the Alexandria campus. He is the former director of the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Southern University-Shreveport.

Louisiana State University-Alexandria is a four-year institution serving about 2,700 undergraduate students. African Americans are 17 percent of the student body.

Dr. Joiner holds a bachelor’s degree and an educational doctorate from Grambling State University in Louisiana. He also earned a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
