New University Administrative Posts for Five African Americans

harrisonValerie I. Harrison was named the senior adviser to the president for compliance at Temple University in Philadelphia. She has been serving as senior associate general counsel at the university. Before joining the staff at Temple University, Dr. Harrison served as general counsel and acting president of The Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Harrison is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in economics. She earned a law degree at Villanova University in Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree in liberal studies and a Ph.D. in African American studies from Temple University.

david_grubbbDavid M. Grubb was appointed director of communications and marketing at Dillard University in New Orleans. He was the sports information director for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Earlier he served as sports information director for Southern University in New Orleans.

Grubb is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

FOREMANMargo Foreman was appointed director of equal opportunity at Iowa State University, effective April 25. She has been serving as associate director of the Office of Equal Opportunity at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She has been on the staff there for 17 years.

Foreman holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a master of public health degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

McNeil-WashiAdrienne J. McNeil-Washington is the new assistant vice president of community relations at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She was the vice president and chief operating officer for the United Way of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania.

McNeil-Washington is a graduate of York College in Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree in human resource development from Villanova University in suburban Philadelphia and is studying for a doctorate in higher education administration through the University of Phoenix.

barkerYvette Barker is the new director of housing at Texas Southern University in Houston. She was general manager of American Campus Communities at Prairie View A&M University in Texas.

Barker is a graduate of Talladega College in Alabama, where she majored in public administration. She holds a master’s degree in education from Langston University in Oklahoma.
