Mandara Savage Is the New Leader of the Extended Campus of Southern Illinois University

Mandara D. Savage was appointed executive director of the Southern Illinois University Extended Campus. An associate professor and chair of the department of technology at the university, Dr. Savage has been serving as interim executive director of the Extended Campus since March 2015. The Southern Illinois University Extended Campus includes all online courses and courses taught at off-campus facilities. One component of the Extended Campus is the Technology Off-Campus Degree Program operates at 10 community colleges and military bases in Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Delaware.

Dr. Savage joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1999 as an assistant professor. He was promoted to associate professor in 2007.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Dr. Savage holds a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering technology from the University of Memphis and a doctorate in industrial education and technology from Iowa State University.
