  1. Dear Dr. Yancy,
Your niece, Mrs.Tristicia Cowser is a colleague of mine where I serve as the Executive Director of the Gadsden/Etowah County Head Start/Early Head Start Program. I noticed on the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education website an announcement that you were being honored by Johnson C. Smith University with a building being named after you. I just wanted to take a minute to say a hearty CONGRATULATIONS and to say “You Go Alabama Girl.” Congratulations too for all the wonderful work you did as President of both Johnson C. Smith and Shaw Universities. May you live long and May our God continue to bless you in even more wonderful ways.
    Sincerely,
    Belvie H. Brice, D.Min.
