The Next President of Tiffin University in Ohio

dr-curtis-charlesThe board of trustees of Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, has appointed Curtis B. Charles as only the fifth president in the educational institution’s 127-year history. Tiffin University, located southeast of Toledo, enrolls about 3,700 undergraduate students and 1,200 graduate students. African Americans make up 15 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Charles currently serves as senior associate vice chancellor for institutional transformation at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he served on the faculties of Morgan State University, the University of Miami, Barry University, and Howard University. He will begin his duties as president of Tiffin University on July 1.

Dr. Charles is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. He holds a master’s degree in architecture studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctorate in higher education administration from Morgan State University.
