Three African American Women in New Administrative Posts

carolynbostickCarrolyn J. Bostick is the new vice president of human resources at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She was the assistant administrator for human resource management at the Federal Aviation Administration.

Bostick is a graduate of Ambassador College, where she majored in communication. She holds a master’s degree in organizational communication from Howard University.

chamb;eeMarquita Chamblee was appointed the inaugural associate provost for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer at Wayne State University in Detroit. Since 2012, she has been the director of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Multicultural Education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Dr. Chamblee is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in agricultural education from Pennsylvania State University.

Sharrika Adams, the associate dean of students at Virginia Tech, has been given the additional responsibility as director of student advocacy. Dr. Adams has been on the staff at the university for 16 years.

Dr. Adams holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She earned a doctoral degree at Virginia Tech.
