The New Director of Ohio State’s Center for Higher Education Enterprise

Terrell L. Strayhorn, professor of higher education in the College of Education and Human Ecology at Ohio State University in Columbus, was named director of the Center for Higher Education Enterprise at the university. The center’s mission is to improve student success in higher education through innovative research on college access, affordability, engagement, and excellence. Dr. Strayhorn replaces Gordon Gee, who left Ohio State to become president of West Virginia University.

Dr. Strayhorn is also the director of the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, & Academic Success at the university. He is an affiliated faculty member in African American and African studies, sexuality studies, and engineering education.

Professor Strayhorn is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He holds a master’s degree from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia and an educational doctorate from Virginia Tech. He is the author of several books including  Theoretical Frameworks in College Student Research (University Press of America/Rowman & Littlefield, 2013) and The Evolving Challenges of Black College Students (Stylus Publishing, 2010).
