Isaac Crumbley to Be Honored by the Geological Society of America

CrumblyIsaac J. Crumbley, associate vice president at Fort Valley State University in Georgia, has been selected to receive the Randolph W. “Bill” and Cecile T. Bromery Award for Minorities from the Geological Society of America. The award was established to honor any minority, particularly an African American, “who has made significant contributions to research in the geological sciences, or who has been instrumental in opening the geological sciences to other minorities.” The award will be presented at the society’s annual meeting and exposition in Vancouver, British Columbia, this October.

Crumbly has served on the staff at Fort Valley State University since 2002. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and a master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois.
