Medgar Evers College Professor Honored by the Government of Montserrat

GeorgeIrishGeorge Irish, professor of Caribbean and Latin American studies at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, has been selected to receive the Order of Excellence from the government of the island nation of Montserrat in the Caribbean.  Professor Irish is being honored for his outstanding work in education and cultural awareness.

Dr. Irish also serves as director of the Caribbean Research Center at Medgar Evers College. He is the co-founder and chancellor of the Peoples of America Consortium of Research Centers and Universities of Sustainable Development.

Professor Irish holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of the West Indies.
