African American Scholar Promoted to Full Professor at Smith College

quashieKevin Everod Quashie was promoted to full professor of Afro-American studies at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. He teaches courses on cultural studies and theory. Professor Quashie is the author of Black Women, Identity, and Cultural Theory: (Un)Becoming the Subject (Rutgers University Press, 2004).

Dr. Quashie is a graduate of Florida International University in Miami. He holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from Arizona State University.
