Alabama State University Offers New Study Abroad Opportunity in Peru

asuAlabama State University, the historically Black educational institution in Montgomery, has announced that it has signed an agreement with the Tropical Pathology and Infectious Disease Association in Iquitos, Peru. Under the agreement, students from Alabama State University will travel to Peru and participate in laboratory work, conferences, and study on infectious diseases.

harron_WilliamsSharron Herron-Williams, interim associate provost for academic affairs at Alabama State, said, “It gives our students the opportunity to have formal training provided by experienced doctors who have specializations that are uncommon in our region. The training they will receive is more advanced and hands-on than the training received by undergraduates in similar programs based in the United States.”
