Faculty Senate at Howard University Rebukes Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees

howard_university_logo965x965The Faculty Senate at Howard University has passed a resolution expressing “no confidence” in the executive committee of the university’s board of trustees. The vote came two weeks after university president Sidney Ribeau announced he was retiring. The executive committee of the board of trustees is charged with evaluating the performance of the university’s president.

In response, board chair Addison Barry Rand issued a statement which read in part, “The board is committed to effective governance as we make timely, appropriate, and difficult decisions as all governing boards and universities must do from time to time.”
