Paine College Names Co-Deans for the Office of Student Affairs

PaineLogoPaine College in Augusta, Georgia, has announced two appointments in the Office of Student Affairs. Reginald B. Beaty and Tony L. Owens will serve as co-deans of student affairs.

Reginald Beaty is the president and co-founder of the Foundation for Educational Success. He served as executive director of Performance Learning Centers Communities in Schools of Georgia, a school dropout prevention organization. Beaty is a graduate of Stillman College in Alabama. He holds a master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

Tony L. Owens is director and co-founder of the Foundation for Educational Success. He served as a principal for alternative high schools for Communities in Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. Owens is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University.

Dr. Harris had a long career in higher education leadership, serving as interim or permanent president of five historically Black institutions: Paine College, Texas Southern University, Alabama State University, Fort Valley State University, and Texas College.
