University of Missouri Reports the Most Diverse Student Body in Its History

Missouri_sealThe University of Missouri reports that it has enrolled the most diverse student body in its history this fall. There are 5,116 minority students on campus this fall with a total enrollment of 34,111. Thus, minorities make up 15 percent of the student body.

There are 2,415 African American students on the Columbia campus this semester. They make up 7.1 percent of all students.

Despite the progress toward diversity at the University of Missouri, it must be noted that much more needs to be done. Blacks make up about 12 percent of the college-age population in Missouri.
