Annette Parker Is One of Three Finalists for President of South Central College

South Central College in North Mankato, Minnesota, has announced three candidates as finalists to become the next president of the educational institution. The college enrolls about 4,000 undergraduate students and Blacks make up about 4 percent of the student body.

The candidates all came to the South Central College campus in recent days to meet with members of the college community. The selection of the new president is expected at the meeting of the board of trustees on March 20.

One of the three finalists is an African American.

Parker-AnnetteAnnette Parker is the executive director of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. She also serves as the executive director of the National Center of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Manufacturing. From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Parker was chair of the department of manufacturing engineering technologies at Lansing Community College in Michigan.

Dr. Parker holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
