Conservative Student Group Tabulates Ivy League Donations to President Obama

A study of Federal Election Commission data by the conservative student political advocacy organization Campus Reform, found that 96 percent of faculty and staff at the eight Ivy League institutions who made donations to presidential candidates during the 2012 election cycle, gave to President Obama’s reelection effort. In total dollar amounts, $1,211,267 was contributed to the Obama campaign from faculty and staff at Ivy League institutions, compared to $114,166 given to Mitt Romney.

At all eight universities, at least 94 percent of all contributors gave their money to Obama, according to the study. At Brown University, 129 faculty and staff donated to Obama, whereas only one staffer gave money to the Romney campaign. At Princeton University, 155 faculty and staff members gave over $155,000 to Obama, while four donors gave $1,901 to Romney.
