Holy Cross Adds Two Black Scientists to Its Faculty

There are 14 new faculty members at the highly ranked College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Two of the new faculty members are Black.

Souleymane Konate was named to the Bishop James A. Healy Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in mathematics and computer science. Since 2009 he has been a postdoctoral research fellow in the department of radiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Dr. Konate is a graduate of the University of Dakar in Senegal. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Andre Isaacs was appointed assistant professor of chemistry. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Isaacs is a 2005 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. A native of Jamaica, he earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

The new administrative appointments are Katrece Boyd at North Carolina Central University, Anthony Jones at Loyola University New Orleans, Gerald Shields at Southeastern Missouri State University, Jordan Jones at the University of Washington, and Jasmine Buxton at West Chester University.
