Four African Americans Taking on New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

albertKatrice A. Albert was appointed vice president for equity and diversity at the University of Minnesota. Since 2005, she has served as vice provost for equity, diversity, and community outreach and as the chief diversity officer at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She will assume her new duties on June 28, 2013.

Dr. Albert is a magna cum laude graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a doctorate in counseling psychology from Auburn University.

Andrea-L.-Tyler-198x300Andrea L. Taylor was appointed director of graduate STEM research at Tennessee State University in Nashville. She was the director of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Tennessee.

A graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Dr. Taylor holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Miami University of Ohio.

crittendon_releaseJannifer Crittendon was appointed director of opportunity and access at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She was the director of the Office of Institutional Equity at the University of Notre Dame.

Dr. Crittendon holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University-South Bend. She earned a doctorate in educational administration from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

eddie_georgeEddie George, who won the 1995 Heisman Trophy as college football’s best player, has been appointed vice president for business advancement at Ohio State University. While playing in the National Football League, George completed a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at Ohio State. After retiring as a player, George earned an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
