Two African American Women in New Higher Education Teaching Roles

Tiece Ruffin is a new assistant professor of education at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Previously, she was a special education teacher at the K-12 level.

Dr. Ruffin holds bachelor’s master’s, and doctoral from Ohio University.

Laquita Blockson is a new associate professor of management at the North Charleston, South Carolina, campus of Saint Leo University. She was an assistant professor of management at the College of Charleston.

Dr. Blockson holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Florida A&M University. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh.
