Black women faculty in new roles are Sherine Obare at Western Michigan University, Erinn Tucker at Georgetown University, Alyssa L. Harris at Boston College, Reena N. Goldthree at Princeton University, Carolyn Gentle-Genitty at IUPUI, and Eleanor Brown at Pennsylvania State University.
Sherine O. Obare, professor of chemistry at Western Michigan University was given a new administrative post. Professor Jay Hoggard was awarded tenure at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and Tarell Alvin McCraney was appointed chair of the department of playwriting at the Yale School of Drama.
The appointees are Daniel M. Roderick at Clark University in Massachusetts. Kirsten Elleby at the University of New Orleans, Kevin D. Howell at the University of North Carolina System, Aishah S. Casseus at Florida State University, and Timothy R. Terrentine Sr. at Western Michigan University.
Dr. Warfield joined the faculty at Western Michigan University in 1972 and retired in 2013. Upon his retirement, he was named associate professor emeritus of educational leadership, research and technology. He was also president of the Kalamazoo chapter of the NAACP.
Dr. Duncan was an associate professor of counseling education and counseling psychology at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He also served as the co-training director of the university’s counseling psychology doctoral program.
Dr. Burt has been on the faculty at the university since 2004 and presently serves as an associate professor of educational leadership, research, and technology.
