The Director’s areas of responsibility include historical research in global and U.S. maritime history, NWC command and local naval history, occasional maritime history publications, occasional maritime history conferences, commemorative events, history fellowships and prizes, oral history, and coordination with NWC archivists on the collection, preservation, and accessibility of vital records and artifacts.
