Dr. Thomas is currently the executive vice president and provost at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to arriving at St. Catherine University in 2019, she was the founding dean of the College of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Indianapolis. Earlier in her career, Dr. Thomas taught counseling psychology and school counseling at Loyola University Chicago.

The authors found that "respondents who view persistent racial inequalities as the product of both past and ongoing institutional factors prescribed lengthier sentences for White defendants; those who discount these explanations prescribed lengthier sentences for Black defendants.

Loyola University Chicago received a $100 million gift to fund full scholarships, room and board, and an array of comprehensive support services for aspiring Black, Latino, first-generation, and other ethnically and racially diverse students who are historically underrepresented in higher education.

Michèle Alexandre was named dean of Loyola University of Chicago’s School of Law and Tevis D. Bryant has been appointed vice president for student life and dean of students at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Torrey Wilson has been serving as associate professor of clinical psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology of Argosy University. Earlier in his career, Dr. Wilson was department chair for clinical psychology at Adler University in Chicago.

The new deans are Claire Garcia at Colorado College, Malik S. Henfield at Loyola University in Chicago, Wendi S. Williams at Mills College in Oakland, California, Nicola Boothe Perry at Florida A&M University, and John M.M. Anderson at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Thomas currently serves as the founding dean of the College of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Indianapolis. Earlier, she served on the faculty for 10 years and was associate dean of academic affairs and research in the School of Education at Loyola University in Chicago. She will become provost on June 3, 2019.

Dr. Darrell P. Wheeler has been serving as professor and dean of the School of Social Welfare and vice provost for public engagement at the University at Albany of the State University of New York. He will begin his new job at Iona College on July 1.

Taking on new administrative roles are Jonathan Nurse at Florida State University, Shawna Cooper-Gibson at Loyola University Chicago, and Mario Berry at Spelman College in Atlanta.

Since 2008, Dr. Isiaah Crawford has served as provost of Seattle University. Previously, Dr. Crawford served on the faculty at Loyola University in Chicago for more than 20 years and was chair of the department of psychology and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
