“Savannah State has a rich history of producing world class artists, educators, scientists, military leaders, corporate executives and public policy advocates," said Dr. Whirl. "I look forward to working with the students, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater Savannah community to continue the legacy of the state’s first public HBCU.”
Dr. Whirl has been serving as vice president for learning and workforce development and vice president for economic development and corporate training at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina. He will begin his new job on November 3.
Taking on new administrative roles are Glenda S. Lattimore at Jackson State University in Mississippi, Leandra Hayes-Burgess at Benedict College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Jermaine Whirl at Greenville Technical College in South Carolina.
Taking on new administrative duties are Kelechi C. Ogbonna at the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University, Darron Turner at Texas Christian University, and Jermaine Whirl at Greenville Technical College in South Carolina.
