Charlotte Morris Appointed the Ninth President of Tuskegee University in Alabama

For over three decades, Dr. Morris has served in several roles at Tuskegee University including chief of staff to the president and secretary to the board of trustees. Most recently, Dr. Morris served as the director of the university’s Title III program.

Vernell Bennett-Fairs Named the Thirteenth President of LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis

Since 2016, Dr. Bennett-Fairs has been serving as vice president for student affairs at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. Earlier, she was vice president for student affairs at Kentucky State University.

Dr. Tyrone Jackson has been serving as vice president of administrative services at the Utica campus of Hinds Community College. Previously, he was associate vice president for student services at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston.

Dwaun Warmack Named President of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina

For the past five years, Dr. Warmack has served as president of Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri. Earlier, Dr. Warmack served as senior vice president at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, and as the associate dean of students at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.

In Memoriam: William A. Butts, 1933-2017

Dr. Butts taught at Mississippi Valley State University and Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. In 1975, he was named the eleventh president of Kentucky State University.

In 2010, at the age of 33, Dr. Warmack was appointed the youngest vice president in the history of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2013 he was promoted to senior vice president for administration and student services.
