The 33 fellows from North American colleges and universities will travel to Africa for 14 to 90 days to collaborate with faculty members at African institutions on curriculum development, research, graduate teaching, training, or mentoring activities.
Beverly Daniel Tatum is the first college or university president in the state of Georgia and the first president of a historically Black college or university to win the award. The award comes with a $500,000 grant.
Dr. Hrabowski will receive $500,000 from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, which he can use in support of academic programs at his discretion.
