Jones was named acting president of the university in 2012, after serving for nearly four years as provost and vice president for academic affairs. She was named interim president in 2013 and served in the role for three years.
Burrell Brown was a professor and chair of the department of business administration and economics at California University of Pennsylvania. He served for 20 years as legal counsel for the Pennsylvania chapter of the NAACP.
The Black student graduation rate at California University of Pennsylvania increased from 27.5 percent in 2004 to 60.5 percent in 2010. Now the Black student graduation rate is higher than the rate for Whites.
