Position Summary:
UNM Student Health and Counseling is soliciting applications for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. This is a .6 to 1.0 FTE position. The position will be available beginning June 2023. The person in this position will provide psychological testing, clinical assessment, and consultation services, and may provide psychotherapy depending upon FTE, for UNM students. This person will be responsible for testing to evaluate and diagnose conditions ADHD with the goal to expand to ASD and cognitive issues testing in the future and help providers with differential diagnoses. Other responsibilities may include individual counseling, consultation to other SHAC providers and UNM community, and supervision of trainees. SHAC is seeking to grow its testing program through collaboration with the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at UNM.
This is a public University with an enrollment of approximately 24,000 students located in the center of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Psychology, and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Certification/LicensureState of NM Licensed Psychologist, or eligibility for NM licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current NM License as PhD or PsyD
- Five (5) years experience, and interest in administering standardized diagnostic instruments, interpreting and report writing with recommendations for treatment.
- Experiencing working on and consulting to clinical teams.
- Interest and experience in supervision of trainees.
- Experience with treating older adolescents and/or young adults in an outpatient mental health setting
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill in empirically supported treatments for specific diagnoses
- Knowledge of psychological theories and practices with diverse clients
- Demonstrated commitment to and experience with cultural humility in clinical practice.
- Experience in successfully applying time-limited treatment methods and demonstrated ability to handle a dynamic case-load in a setting with a high intake rate.
- Demonstrated ability and comfort with public speaking to groups of varying sizes.
