Job Description:
The Talent Development Program Manager manages, plans and implements all operational and event planning activities for Brown’s signature annual employee recognition and engagement programs. This includes designing and developing themes, securing presenters, facilitators, committees, volunteers, and building and maintaining positive relationships with those who contribute to the success of the events. The incumbent assesses the effectiveness of existing programs, enhancing them based on feedback and proposes and develops new initiatives based on research and assessment results.
The position develops communications strategies and marketing plans for all employee recognition and engagement programs and assists with the development and implementation of training program communications. The Talent Development Program Manager writes program communications, including web and social media content, emails, briefings, presentations, speeches, and programs.
The Talent Development Program Manager also serves as a producer, facilitator or co-facilitator for training programs and as a learning Management System administrator, as required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages employee recognition and engagement programs
- Develops and implements robust communication plans for employee recognition and engagement programs and assists with the development and implementation of training program communications
- Produces, facilitates and assists with the development and implementation of training
- Manages learning management system
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and 3-5 years of experience planning and managing events, ideally in a higher education setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in and knowledge of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, procedures, and available resources.
- Experience managing virtual events using the latest technology and virtual event tools.
- Exemplary leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing conference facilities, technology, and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, written communications and presentation skills.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills and the ability to organize resources, establish priorities and develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Ability to apply creativity and event design principles to assigned projects.
- In-depth capability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele.
- Strong ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external clients and vendors
- Capacity to adhere to processes, timelines and schedules.
- In-depth knowledge of project budget analysis.
- Strong service orientation and ability to build solution-driven approaches; ability to be nimble and agile in developing solutions.
- Confidence managing virtual event platforms and working across multiple platforms, systems and processes
- Exceptional ability to perform in situations with multiple projects with overlapping and competing deadlines.
- Capacity to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
- Highly-proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
