Job Description:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term financial and administrative management and operations of the Center for Animal Resources and Education (CARE), including budget preparation; cost analysis and rate setting; oversight of occupational health program compliance; customer support, and technology and data management. This position works closely with the entire CARE management team to ensure optimal financial and operational performance for the department and ensuring continuity and efficiency in the divisional approach to processes.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferred: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field).
- 5-7 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Cost Accounting experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Experience in research/hospital/academic setting preferred.
- Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies
- Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
- Strong financial analytical skills required.
- Knowledge of auditing, both internal and external, and proper accounting procedures required.
- Strong organizational and planning skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills required; willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, including complex spreadsheets required; Google documents, database software, email, word processing and web-searching skills required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
