Job Description:
The Administrative Coordinator (AC) provides executive assistance to the senior leadership team in Residential Life and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards and is integral in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming campus community for Brown University students. The AC ensures that essential cross-departmental operations are aligned, coordinated, and intentional, providing the highest level of support to meet the needs of students, parents, faculty, and staff in the Brown community.
The AC provides high-level, direct support with calendar management, event planning and management, data collection and tracking, operating budget monitoring and analysis, and liaising with internal offices, providing day to day administrative and reception services for both offices. The incumbent is relied upon to research, analyze and resolve issues that arise to make effective use of the management team’s time. The AC is also responsible for high level administrative support. Responsibilities and tasks include monitoring main phone lines, receiving and assisting visitors, managing conference room calendars, coordinating logistical support for meetings, events, and conferences and liaising with other Brown offices. Additional responsibilities include providing meeting and event support and inventory management supporting maintenance and tracking of informational assets.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience managing an office or administrative unit in an academic environment is preferred.

- Excellent administrative and organization skills.
- Agility and familiarity with latest software, database systems, computer literacy. Ability to learn new systems.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to adapt, respond, and adjust priorities within a dynamic student affairs environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues of diversity and inclusion; ability to promote respect and appreciation for diversity among students and staff required.
