The Human Development and Family Science program area invites applications for a one academic year, non- renewable, Qualified Rank Assistant Teaching Professor in the Human Development and Family Science Program, School of Applied Human Development, College of Education and Human Development with a start date of August 7, 2023.

Information about Human Development & Family Science (HDFS) HDFS is a student-centered, strengths-based, inclusive, and trauma-informed program that prepares students for careers doing the public good in diverse professional settings. We study the dynamics of family relationships and how our environments shape those relationships. Students learn how to support the healthy development of children and individuals across their lifespans, as well as engage with families through outreach, prevention, and education.
Essential Functions
Undergraduate teaching of four (4) undergraduate courses per semester for a total of eight (8) for the academic year. Courses include introductory level marriages and families, lifespan human development, parenting, and other family science courses. Courses are primarily face-to-face with some online and evening sections.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree completed by August 7, 2023
- At least one degree in family science, human development, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Canvas course management system Teaching experience at the university level Teaching experience in an online format
