University of Wisconsin-Parkside — Chancellor

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside, a dynamic learning community grounded in academic excellence and focused on student success, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement, is seeking nominations and applications for its next Chancellor. The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is committed to high-quality educational programs, creative and scholarly activities, and services responsive to its diverse student population of approximately 4,300, and its local, national and global communities.

One of 13 four-year universities in the University of Wisconsin System, UW-Parkside is located on 700 beautiful acres in southeast Wisconsin, two miles from Lake Michigan equidistant to the diverse and vibrant communities of Kenosha and Racine. Attesting to that vibrancy, Microsoft is in the early stages of building a $1 billion data center approximately eight miles from the UW-Parkside campus.  An emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), UW-Parkside was recently ranked #4 in social mobility and #5 for diversity for regional public institutions in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report.

The next Chancellor will possess solid academic credentials, preferably with a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree, and a record of significant accomplishment. The successful candidate will possess a deep- rooted understanding of and appreciation for the freedoms, responsibilities, and independence of the university and a thorough command of the forces and issues shaping the national higher educational landscape. As an energetic, resilient leader, the successful candidate will also possess a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to continually improve the university experience for students, faculty, and staff and the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion that impact the entire campus community.

The Chancellor Search & Screen Committee will begin the review of applications immediately and continue work until an appointment is made. To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by May 31, 2023, and must include a letter of application addressing the leadership opportunities and qualifications articulated within this prospectus, a curriculum vitae or resume, and the names and contact information for five professional references. References will not be contacted without prior knowledge and approval of a candidate. Applications should be sent electronically (MS Word or PDF) to: UWParksideChancellor@agbsearch.com
