Job Description:

The Campus Life Fellow position works closely with the Vice President for Campus Life, Senior Director for Student Success and Chief of Staff, and relevant Campus Life departments to pursue three major priorities: help the division be flexible and nimble in our communication and collaboration with students as areas of work evolve; help staff in the division and their work remain connected and relevant to current student culture and interests; and manage special projects as identified by the Vice President and Senior Director for Student Success and Chief of Staff related to student engagement.

The Fellow will support opportunities for the division to connect with Brown undergraduate and graduate students in building community through program activities and engagement opportunities. This position will oversee the Campus Life Student Advisory Board which works closely with the Vice President for Campus Life and Senior Director for Student Success and Chief of Staff.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Student Success and Senior Director for Student Success and Chief of Staff with a dotted line to the Vice President for Campus Life, this position will serve as a critical source of direct support and consultation to senior leadership in the Division of Campus Life helping the team maintain a strong connection to students.

Note: This position is term-limited to June 30, 2024.

Job Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required plus one year of relevant experience in the development and implementation of programs aimed at undergraduate students, either as a student leader/organizer or via professional experience post-graduation. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be accepted.
  • Preferred: Experience in administrative project and program management.

  • Skills, knowledge, and experience developing leadership development programs that are responsive to the needs of a diverse student population including students from historically underrepresented groups.
  • Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to mentor near-peers and advocate for their growth and development.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as relevant computer systems/technology experience.
  • Developed interpersonal, communication, and relational skills to interact positively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with students, staff and faculty in out-of-classroom settings.
