Job Description:

The Research Assistant will assist with experimental procedures and computational analyses in a research laboratory in the Brown Neuroscience Department. The candidate in this position will contribute to collaborative research, data analysis and data sharing. This position will be responsible for coordinating scientific projects, and assisting with the generation, computational analyses and data sharing of large data sets, in particular generated through next generation RNA sequencing approaches. The laboratory studies neural circuit functions in mice and has ~15 researchers (postdoc, grad students, undergrads).

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of one year from the start date which may be extended based upon available funding.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science (molecular biology, neuroscience, or related sciences) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • At least one-year experience working in a research laboratory.
  • Experience working with large molecular biology data sets and computational analyses.
