Brown University — International Advancement Coordinator

Job Description:

The International Advancement Coordinator is an integral member of the International Advancement team and plays a critical role providing fundraising and an advanced level of direct support to two Regional Directors within the Office of International Advancement in order to help build a strong and supportive community of international alumni, parents and friends at Brown University.  The position will track international fundraising progress for Assistant Vice President for International Advancement and for the team.

The International Advancement Coordinator will play a key role on the International Advancement team to strategically plan and execute all meetings and events of the Brown University International Advisory Councils, as well as serving as the team’s primary liaison with Advancement Events. In collaboration with the Advancement Communications team, the Coordinator will also assist in creation and publication of 1-2 annual e-newsletters for approximately 5,000 international alumni, parents and friends.

This position will handle most administrative duties and information technology tasks, which include but are not limited to: meeting/travel arrangements, gift/pledge recording accuracy, high level correspondence and briefings, proposal pipeline maintenance, filing and phone coverage, research, event support, online event management, as well as technical and logistical support to fundraisers.

The incumbent will create/update country reports on student statistics (undergraduate admission, graduate students, and study abroad), related faculty research, institutional collaborations, campus events, and fundraising information. These reports provide the context to fundraisers and the University senior administrators for their international travel. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, a positive attitude, a high level of organization, initiative and professionalism.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field such as development, sales, customer relations, administrative, and/or higher education

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to interact and develop relationships with high level alumni and parents, prospects and donors.
  • Demonstrated ability with computer software programs including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work independently with strong project/time management skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a higher education, fundraising, or non-profit setting highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud is a plus.
  • Experience in event management is desired. Knowledge of Zoom (both meeting and webinar formats) preferred.
