ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: COUNSELING AND LEADERSHIP
STARTING DATE: SUMMER/FALL 2023
PRIMARY OPPORTUNITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach graduate Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) courses and other courses in the graduate programs as needed.
2. Serves as the Clinical Director of the MFT Program, which has responsibility for coordinating off-campus clinical placements, developing affiliation agreements, training site supervisors, conducting site visits, managing clinical evaluation processes, tracking progress towards completion of clinical training requirements, and developing remediation plans when required.
3. Supervise practicum and internship students in the Marriage and Family Therapy program, the MFT Center, and mentor graduate students.
4. Monitor academic progress of students.
5. Develop student growth plans as needed.
6. Serve on thesis/dissertation committees.
7. Serve on the Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Board, and counseling team.
8. Assist in ensuring that the MFT program complies with accreditation standards.
9. Help oversee the implementation of the MFT assessment plan.
10. Attend state/national meetings related to the MFT program as needed.
11. Assist with student recruitment for the MFT program.
12. Serves on MFT admissions committee, participate in departmental activities and governance (i.e., Attend faculty assemblies, professional development days, retreats, committees, advising.)
13. Active involvement in appropriate professional and scholarly activities including research, participation in state, regional and national professional associations.
14. OTHER OPPORTUNITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possibility of developing new courses that contribute to the university’s innovative, interdisciplinary Shared Curriculum. Additional responsibilities include participation in departmental activities and governance, professional and research activities, attending state, regional and national professional association meetings; attending faculty assemblies, development days, and retreat, serving on committees, and advising.
REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Earned Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or closely related field. (ABD candidates with an anticipated graduation date before July 2023 will be considered).
• Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
• Clinical Fellow status with American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and Approved Supervisor status with AAMFT (supervisor candidates will be considered).
• University level teaching experience desirable.
• A minimum of three years of experience as an MFT.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.
• Familiarity with integration of technology in education.
• A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning.
• Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to race, gender, physical limitations, class, or religious perspectives.

SALARY:
Rank: Assistant
Term: 10 months (academic year + 1 month summer)
Hiring Range: $65,245 to $72,922
Commensurate with years of credited service. 1.75% increase to the minimum salary is granted for each year of credited service at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Rank: Associate
Term: 10 months (academic year + 1 month summer)
Hiring Range: $70,100 to $78,347
Commensurate with years of credited service. 1.75% increase to the minimum salary is granted for each year of credited service that exceeds six (6) at the rank of Associate Professor.
