Job Description:
The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the North Bronx’s Career Counseling and Outreach Center’s (NBCCOC) outreach and instructional activities. Outreach involves creating and participating in partnerships with local agencies as well as supervising college and career counseling services. Instructional responsibilities include program development and review, supervising instructors, overseeing admissions, and facilitating TABE testing. The Associate Director will also be responsible for supporting organizational effectiveness and assisting the Center Director with the administration of the NBCCOC.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Center Director with managing daily program operations, developing program policy/procedures, conducting program/services assessment and evaluation, and participating in strategic planning
  • Oversee instructional programming including program development and review, enrollment and retention initiatives, instructional offerings (including an academic calendar), manage TABE testing (and student placements), and support in-person and remote instruction
  • Supervise instructional staff
  • Monitor and supervise contract staff (cleaning and security)
  • Provide oversight of the development and identification of new community partnerships
  • Collaborate with NBCCOC staff to maintain current partnerships
  • Implement, upgrade, and expand NBCCOC’s hybrid learning platform at the center
  • Assist the Center Director with the yearly operational plans/reports relating to long range plans and visions for center growth
  • Represent the Center Director in their absence regarding all operational responsibilities at the center
  • Coordinate the scheduling of resources and services in the ATTAIN Lab
  • Provide data input regarding student information, case notes, registration, grades, student files, records maintenance, and textbook inventory through Banner, as necessary
  • Oversee case management services including intake, assessment, support services and follow up
  • Oversee and support College Connections Activities
  • Provide guidance and support for employment placement activities
  • Participate in various/ outside professional development conferences and workshops along with UCAWD sponsored seminars
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Center Director

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in adult education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership or administration, counseling, or other appropriate field of study
  • 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience overseeing academic programs (such as serving as department chair, lead teacher, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and student records management systems (such as Banner), data reporting systems (such as ARGOS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5-7 years of progressive supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with adult population
  • Knowledge of organizational and instructional assessment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in teams

Additional Information:
Salary Range:
$75K – $80K
