Ball State’s University College welcomes applications for three Senior Academic Advisors.

Position Function: Serve as primary academic advisor in a variety of disciplines; apply proactive advising strategies; support students in meeting academic requirements; promote strategies for student success; serve as referral to other university services; facilitate communication between students and all departments; mentor and support early career academic advisors; collaborate with campus partners for programming and event development and facilitation.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Three years of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, or related field in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications: More than three years working in a higher education environment; familiarity with Ball State curriculum; familiarity with Banner, EAB Navigate, and Degree Works.
Preferred Other: Ability to work with faculty, administration, and undergraduate students; ability to work in a collaborative environment and work independently; sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population; interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions; ability to act as an advocate for both the student and the university; ability to identify students’ needs for support services in order to make appropriate referrals; ability to maintain confidentiality.

The salary range for this position is: $42,000 – $45,000
