Job Description:

Brown University School of Engineering growing!!  Under the direction of our new Dean of Engineering, Tejal Desai, we are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Stockroom Coordinator to support our goals of expanding research. The incumbent supports the shipping/receiving, mail services, and daily operations of the stockroom facility in Prince Lab for the School of Engineering (SoE), Institute for Molecular and Nanoscale Innovation (IMNI), the Department of Physics and Applied Math. The incumbent ships, receives materials, including office and research items, chemicals, live specimens and dry ice for administrative offices and research laboratories. Logs, scans, bar codes chemical inventory for the EHS Chemical Environmental Management System database. Orders supplies from WB Mason for faculty, students, and staff.  Maintains proper paperwork trail for all orders for audit purposes. Sorts, delivers and pickups all incoming and outgoing mail for faculty, staff and students for the SoE, IMNI, Department of Physics and Division of Applied Math

Education and Experience
Associate degree and 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of educations and experience.

Experience with package and mail delivery services, stockroom environment preferred.

Job Competencies
Very good interpersonal and communication skills; good oral and written command of English grammar.

Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, with ability to work with a diverse customer base with tact and diplomacy.

The individual needs to be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently and in a timely manner.

Ability to handle multiple priorities.

Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented and able to participate in professional development goals.

Proficient in Microsoft and Google platforms

Knowledge of EHS, EPA, OSHA safety regulations a plus.

Ability to lift 50lbs.
