Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Advancement Reporting Services, the Senior Report Developer provides technical programming support and performs complex data extracts and queries, designs robust custom reports and KPI dashboards, develops custom integrations, data tables, and prepares related data analyses for a wide range of Advancement clients. This position requires solid analytical, report development, data management, communication, interpersonal and task delivery skills. Additionally, this position requires project management skills, and an understanding of agile development methodology. The incumbent will mentor junior staff members in these areas.
The successful candidate must develop a broad and deep understanding of complex Advancement business functionality, requirements and the ability to develop and deliver solutions that meet those requirements. Efficiency, multitasking, and the ability to prioritize tasks with limited direction is crucial to success.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field such as computing/software analysis, database structure, query and design, programming / report writing or database implementation and enhancements required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, ETL, Visual Studio, or similar applications demonstrated ability to perform complex data extracts, queries, custom reports and KPI dashboards required.
- Knowledge of proper methodologies and principles related to technical business applications, systems design, user support, and programming.
- Ability to quickly and efficiently translate business needs into delivered technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector, and/or an academic or research institution, and involvement in fundraising, development and/or institutional research preferred
- Foundational data modeling skills and experience constructing data calculations and formulas strongly preferred.

- To ensure that Brown has a top-performing, model program the incumbent will be provided with training and ongoing professional development on all proprietary systems, particularly the Blackbaud Enterprise CRM product and related software development toolkit (SDK). The incumbent is expected to be an active member of appropriate professional communities and will stay abreast of industry standards, best practices, current and emerging trends by engaging peers, interacting with other industry professionals and participating in membership groups and conversations that advance professional practice.
