Job Description:
The Carney Institute for Brain Science is looking for a Research Assistant to engage in the research operations of the Rodent Behavioral Phenotyping Core (RBPC) under the direction of Dr. Arturo Andrade. The RBPC is a state-of-the-art facility that offers services to investigators interested in performing behavioral experiments in rodents. The Research Assistant will support the daily operations of the RBPC including but not limited, providing immediate support to users, ensuring compliance by users, support administrative tasks, and assisting in protocol set up.
The Research Assistant will have the ability to perform these duties with regular guidance from the director of the RBPC.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 8/30/2023.
Major tasks of the position:
- Provide immediate technical support to the RBPC users
- Assist in setting up behavioral protocols
- Ensure RBPC policy compliance by users
- Detailed record keeping
Qualifications
- Required: Course work in genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, statistics.
- Preferred: Experience with mouse behavior is plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively, collegiality and professionalism.
- Ability and drive to learn biological experiments in a lab setting.
- Ability to use computers for data analysis.
- Willingness to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
Additional Information:
This position requires direct contact with laboratory animals.
