Job Description:
A new center for health policy, housed in Brown School of Public Health, is seeking a full-time Lead Data Scientist. The goal of the center is to conduct high impact research to improve US health policy. Particular areas of focus include payment reform, Medicare Advantage, health care prices, integration and consolidation, and policy evaluation. The center will also be engaged in the training and mentoring junior researchers and translating research findings to guide policy change.
The Lead Data Scientist will lead quantitative analysis related to critical areas in health policy. This will involve secondary data analysis of various administrative datasets including health care claims. The analyst will work collaboratively with faculty-led teams in a dynamic environment that encourages independent-thinking, problem-solving, and collegiality.
Master’s Degree and seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and an eagerness to take ownership of challenging and open-ended assignments.
- Effectively works alone but also in a team.
- Effective at communicating with audiences whose technical backgrounds vary widely.
- Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
