Job Description:
The Development Associate provides an advanced level of direct administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Development. The department seeks a personable and engaged individual who cares about Diversity and Inclusion and who is eager to contribute through excellent interpersonal, writing, reporting, and project management skills. This position requires collaborative interactions with members within the Division as well as with academic leaders, faculty and staff across campus as well as interactions with Brown volunteers and donors.
The Development Associate’s duties will include proactively managing calendars, schedules, budgets, travel/meeting arrangements and fundraising pipeline. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of reports, briefings, and high-level correspondence. They may occasionally be asked to assist in facilitating event planning logistics both on and off campus for large and small-scale events and to provide technical and logistical support.

Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and project and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of the Google Suite, Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, electronic mail and calendars, mainframe, and internet/HTML that support high-level fundraising.
- Experience coordinating complex travel arrangements and calendars.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with data and experience managing budgets.
- Proficient with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a university setting.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field such as fundraising, higher education, non-profit, development, alumni relations, and/or marketing.
